  • For English language proficiency tests and other standardized tests that provide official score reporting, scores must be submitted through an official score report in accordance with the testing agency’s reporting procedures. For tests for which official score reporting is not provided, please submit the original or an authenticated/notarized copy equivalent to the original by post within the application deadline.

For GCE A-Level, a Statement of Results issued directly by the examining body (e.g., Cambridge International Examinations) is considered equivalent to the original certificate. Hard copies sent by post in the form of a notarized copy or a Certified True Copy issued by the school (if the school officially offered the A-Level curriculum) are also accepted, provided that the university is able to access and verify the results through Cambridge Assessment International Education using the applicant’s Centre Number, Candidate Number, Date of Birth, and exam series as submitted.

    운영자  /  2025.08.21

To attract outstanding international students, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Education annually evaluate and certify universities with high internationalization capabilities. Certified universities benefit from relaxed visa screening criteria for international students and additional allowances for part-time work hours during weekdays.
Especially among certified universities, 18 institutions with particularly excellent internationalization capabilities are selected as Excellent Accredited Universities.
We are proud to inform you that POSTECH is not only an IEQAS-certified University, but also an Excellent Accredited University.

  • 1) International Admissions track: All international students are eligible to the same level of scholarship with domestic students at POSTECH, which includes Jigok Scholarship (tuition fee waiver), Digital Scholarship for Freshmen (providing digital devices for academic purpose), Pathfinder Voucher (10million KRW for self-development), and more. For detail, please refer to https://adm-iu.postech.ac.kr/user/comm/menu/e2afb97fa1b8f43c574be0dabef78f87/content/index.do

    2) GKS track: Please refer to GKS application guide.

  • 1) (MANDATORY) National Health Insurance Service (NHIS): From March 2021, all international students who stay in Korea for six months or longer must sign up for a compulsory social insurance, NHIS(National Health Insurance Service), by Korean law. NHIS provides a wide range of coverage for various injuries and illnesses. Furthermore, instead of getting reimbursed afterwards, patients can pay the discounted amount from the start at the medical institutions.
    2) (OPTIONAL) Student Medical Co-op Plan Fee: The Student Medical Co-op Association was established to reduce the financial burden on students in case of illnesses or injuries. The plan provides reimbursements for out-of-pocket expenses for medical treatment of illnesses or injuries and is available to regular full-time students (exchange students are not eligible) at 28,000 KRW per semester.

  • The applicant who receive admission offer should inform POSTECH Admissions about one's willingness to enroll. • No. All internatioal admissions track applicants will go through document screening ONLY.

  • POSTECH participates only in the GKS Embassy Track. For a university overview, including available majors and the document requirements specified by the university, please refer to: https://adm-iu.postech.ac.kr/user/admission/guide/gks.do

The GKS application process will take place in mid-September 2025 through the Study in Korea website, and final results will be announced in January 2026. All GKS scholars are required to complete a 1-year Korean language course and achieve TOPIK level 3 before starting their degree program. Applicants who submit TOPIK level 5 or higher at the time of application are exempt from the language course and may begin the degree program directly. Assuming students do not have TOPIK 5 at the time of application, the intake of GKS students at POSTECH will begin in March 2027.

Applicants with questions regarding eligibility or document submissions beyond the requirements specified by POSTECH should consult the organizations responsible for the first rounds of selection (Embassy) directly.

  • POSTECH’s very first international admission track will open for the Fall 2026 intake. There will be no Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 intake, and from 2027 onward, two admission cycles (Spring and Fall) will be conducted each year.

For the Fall 2026 intake, the application period runs from September 26 to November 3, 2025. Applications can be submitted via the Study in Korea website around the beginning of the application period: https://www.studyinkorea.go.kr/

  • All students are admitted without a declared major and follow an undecided major curriculum at the Mueunjae School of Undergraduate Studies during their first three semesters.

This allows students to explore a variety of disciplines before selecting a major. After the first semester of their sophomore year, students may choose freely from 11 available majors.
